Instrumentals
(2002-present)

This is a collection of instrumentals I've recorded in my home studio.  The backing tracks were supplied by friends.  I hope you enjoy listening to them!

SONG NOTES
Warm Up There are clams galore in this "jam", but it's still kinda cool.  This is recorded live when I was on a business trip to Anaheim, CA in Sept '08.
Blues Shoes I recorded this sometime in 2005, but just now found it.  lol...  Me on lead.
Are You Serious? I purposely tried to step out of my "safe zone" on this track.  This is very unusual for me, but still fun.
Is This Love All lead guitars by me.
Who Dat? Lead guitars by me..
So Slow Lead guitars by me...
Clam Bake Yep...
La Grange This is an Internet collaboration between Warren Mendoza from the band Zero and myself.  I play lead guitar from 00:37 - 1:26, while Warren plays the remaining parts.
Bildidi Balzazidido This is an Internet collaboration between Bob Savage and myself.  I  play lead guitar from 00:40 - 1:21, 1:30 - 1:41, and 1:50 - 2:03 while Bob covers the rest of the tune.
Riffy Rocks This is an Internet collaboration between Gary "Riffy" and myself.  I play all leads, while Gary provided the backing tracks.

Bad Monkey
(Year of the Monkey - 2007)

I played with Bad Monkey for 1 1/2 years and had a blast!  We did regular full-night cover gigs and also wrote, recorded, and performed all original music.  Here are all of the original songs from the "Year of the Monkey" CD.  Sean Quidgeon and I both played guitar in this band.

SONG NOTES
I This is the first song we wrote together when I joined the band.
My Way Back Home This song was written in minutes and is one of my favorite's off the CD.
Double Fistin' "Double Fistin" was on the radio regularly.  Judging by the reaction from friends, I'd say this was the most popular song from this CD.
Creepy Love Song A few of us got goose bumps when we came up with this song.  Very dark and... well...  creepy.
Always Waiting Good laid back rock tune with a great hook!
Changes Sean had this riff for years, but it took us this long to make it into a song.
Bad I started playing the opening part of this song not thinking it would "fit" with the band.  They loved it and finished it that day!
Forward March Rockin' song with a great message (support the troops!)
Rev It Up I had this riff tucked away for probably 10 years and it finally made it into a song.
Steadfast (Crazy) This song was written before I joined the band.

X13
(X13 - 2005)

Here are a few songs from the new X13 CD.  I'm not a member of this band, but I was heavily involved in the songwriting and studio recording.  My guitar is panned right and Sean Quidgeon's is panned left.

SONG NOTES
Down in a Hole Sean plays the lead on this song.
Driven to Insanity I play the lead on this song.
Rockstar I play the lead on this song.
I am the One I play the first part of the lead and Sean plays the second part.
Give it Up Sean plays the first part of the lead and I play the second part.

Perpetual
(Fire Inside - 2003)

Listed below are songs from the 13-song Perpetual "Fire Inside" CD.  I played all guitars and did all of the production, engineering and mixing.  This band opened for several national acts like Angel, Quiet Riot, Starz, MSG, Black Label Society, etc...  We also went on a short tour with Warrant and Firehouse.

SONG NOTES
Comin' After You
Bright Lights, Big City Sean Quidgeon plays the first part of the lead and I play the second.
Cold Sweat
'Til the Day I Die I wrote this song years before joining Perpetual.  Scroll down to the "S.A.F.B." section to hear the original version.
Fire Inside
Under Your Skin
Tearin' Down the Wall
Got Your Love
Trouble
Long Live Rock N' Roll Ronnie James Dio gave us permission to include this song on our CD.

Merry Q
(Merry Q - 1999)

I was asked by a friend to play guitar on 2 of the 5 songs appearing on the 1999 "Merry Q" CD.  I had no part in writing these songs, but rather served as a studio musician when recording them in a professional studio here in St Louis.

SONG NOTES
Keep Me on the Line I'm playing all guitars.
Are You Lonely? I'm playing all guitars.

S.A.F.B.
(1995-1997)

I recorded these songs during an extended break from performing live.  This was when I first joined the Air Force and was stationed at Scott AFB, Illinois.  I wrote, played guitar, bass, keys, sang and programmed drums on all songs below, except where noted otherwise.  It's not that these songs are great or anything, but this was a super creative time in my life where I was learning how to write and record songs in my home.  I often stay up until 4:00am drinking coffee and writing/recording.

All of these songs were recorded on either a 4-track analog recorder or one of two very early 8-track digital recorder I owned (one made by Vestax and the other by Fostex.)

United
(United - 1992)

I dug around and found these old recordings I made with a good friend of mine back around 1992 in a studio in Marion, Illinois.  Jack Dresel and I wrote these songs together while playing around Herrin, Illinois in the three piece cover/original band "United."  We were both around 19-20 years old.

SONG NOTES
Broken Hearted Jack sang and played rhythm guitar on this tune, while I played drums, bass guitar and lead guitar.
Miss You Much Jack sang and played rhythm guitar, piano and organ.  I played drums, bass guitar and lead guitar.
Dont' Say Goodbye The first song we wrote or recorded!  If I remember right, I'm playing all guitars, Jack is playing bass and singing, and Joe G. is playing drums.  I apologize for the poor sound quality in the middle.  This was transferred from a tape that was going bad.
What's Wrong With You I think this is the same as "Don't Say Goodbye" above.  My on guitars, Jack on bass and vocals, and Joe G. on drums.  I always thought this song was pretty cool.
